The Week Ahead in Investigator

26 June 2026 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts))

Phew! We’ve made it! Well done to the children who have firstly dealt with the disappointment of not going to Hill End and then battled with the heat throughout the week. It has been a challenge but the children are fundamentally very adaptable and get used to new routines quickly. The temperature is forecast to be more in line with (old) seasonal norms next week but they’ll still need sun hats, sun cream and water bottles.

We have had a fantastic week finding out about the Suffrage Movement and considering its lasting impact. Next week in history, we will focus on the 1921 census and find out what changed when we compare it with the 1911 census.

Next Week’s News

SPORTS DAY is on Wednesday. Children should come to school wearing a T-shirt in their house colour. Parents are warmly invited to the afternoon session where you will be able to watch children competing on the track.

School Photo – news from the office

Whole school photo

Next Tuesday, 30th is the whole school photo first thing.

Children from reception to Year 6 need to wear either the jade polo shirt with navy bottoms or a summer dress. Unicorn children, please wear a school t-shirt.

If you have PE that day, you will need to wear your regular school uniform and bring in your kit.

Upper School Play – Please bring costumes next week

Many children say they have sorted their costumes already. All of Year 4 (in the chorus) should dress on a fairy /woodland/woodland creature theme. Being dressed in woodland colours (greens and browns ) is fine. Please do not feel you have to buy anything special.

Year 5 pupils -  I think most have already sorted out their costumes. Crows will need black leggings and top.
