Week ahead 16.03.26

13 March 2026 (by Alice Fletcher-Single (afletcher-single))

Dear Parents and Carers,
It has been another busy and exciting week for Endeavour class!
We had a fantastic Greek Day, where the children fully immersed themselves in their topic. They performed short plays, explored how medicines were created in Ancient Greece, designed beautiful mosaics and even sampled some delicious Greek food. It was wonderful to see the children so engaged in their learning.
The children also enjoyed taking part in an energetic African dance workshop, and we were lucky to watch a Shakespeare performance, which the children thoroughly enjoyed.
In English lessons, the children have been writing newspaper reports from Mount Olympus, reporting on missing gods and goddesses. They have been focusing on using formal language and structuring their reports clearly.
In Science, Year 6 have started learning about classification keys and how they are used to group plants and animals.
In PSHE, Year 6 have been exploring democracy and political manifestos. Next week they will be presenting their candidates and delivering persuasive speeches to share their ideas.
In Art, the children have been sketching designs for their own Greek masks. Next week they will be creating the masks so please could you send in any recyclable materials (e.g. cardboard, boxes, clean packaging) that they could use.
Homework
Homework continues to be set on Atom Learning. Some children are consistently completing their tasks, which really helps to consolidate their learning in class—thank you for your support with this. However, there are still some children who are not completing their homework regularly. From now on, any homework that has not been completed will need to be done at the start of lunchtime in school.
Looking Ahead to Next Week

Have a wonderful weekend,
Kind regards,
