Week ahead 16.01.2616 January 2026 (by Alice Fletcher-Single (afletcher-single)) |
We have had a lovely week learning about The Great Barrier Reef and the important role coral reefs play in our 'why oceans matter’ topic. Our class book 'The Lost Whale' compliments our topic and we have enjoyed researching all about grey whales this week! Thank you to those who have now brought their copies of the book in.
In exciting residential news, thank you to those who logged in to the Yenworthy meeting. We are all starting to get very excited in Endeavour class! Please do continue to email any questions/concerns and I'll do my best to answer them!
Endeavour were given a special class certificate today. I am so proud of their efforts in English - incredible descriptive writing this week, all of you. Huge well done.
We also won the house points this week so stay tuned for class treat details coming soon! Very well deserved Endeavour, well done.

Thank You for Joining Our VIPERS Reading Meeting! A big thank you to all parents who attended this week’s VIPERS meeting on how we teach Reading in KS2 and ways you can support your child at home. Your time and engagement are greatly appreciated! For those who were unable to attend, a VIPERS guidance document will be available on each class page to provide helpful tips and information. Exciting Reading Initiatives Class Book Review Journal We are bringing back the class book review book! Each class will have one shared journal, and children will take turns to complete their review, one week per child. There are examples inside for inspiration, but we encourage creativity! Illustrations, diagrams, or unique layouts are all welcome. Book Suggestions On the office door, children can write down their Book Suggestion. This will help us build a diverse and exciting range of books for our school library and classroom book corners.
Next week we will be talking about the residential, carrying on with our oceans exploration in Geography and starting a new writing piece.
Our ukulele practice will continue (they are doing so well with this) too!
