Writing

The class had a writing assessment last week so this week we will write Christmas themed poetry.

We will continue to consolidate what the children have learnt this term and take assessments.

I have given the children Biff & Chip books and will provide them for the Christmas Holidays to offer some variety. Please note the level is not a reflection of their abilities. They have been chosen because they include the sounds learnt so far, and coincide with the scheme of learning, so it is an extra opportunity to embed what has been learnt and help build fluency skills.

 
Maths

We will finish the unit on Geometry. This includes recognising 2D & 3D shapes by their properties and understanding patterns with 2D and 3D shapes.

RE

This ‘Gifts and Giving’ unit encourages the class to think about different types of gifts we can give and why giving is important. It will also teach the class about the Christian celebration Christmas and the Islamic festival Eid Al-Fitr. Children will learn why Christmas is important to many Christians and why Eid Al-Fitr is important to many Muslims.
