Final Week Term 117 October 2025 (by Sonia Coles (scoles)) |
It was a lovely opportunity to meet all the parents this week and to talk about how the children are settling into Discovery.
The children have made a good start to the year. Thank you to everyone who came along and shared their thoughts and feedback. It’s wonderful to work together to support the children as they continue to thrive in Year 3.
We have focused on science this week and will continue next week. The children have been learning about Rocks. This has tied in nicely with our topic on Volcanoes. Children have learned about classifying rocks into 3 categories - igneous, sedimentary and metamorphic. We conducted an experiment on the process of sedimentary rock and metamorphic rock formations.
Next week we will continue with igneous rocks, fossils and soil.
Maths- Continuation of addition and subtraction unit.
Homework - reading, times table practise and spellings is a must. In addition, there is maths homework sheets (no exchange) and Spag booklets will need to be returned by Wednesday.
Wishing you all a good weekend and week.
