Term 1: Week 7 in Adventure Class

10 October 2025 (by Elle Freeman (efreeman))

We've had a fabulous week in Adventure so far- making number blocks, practising sounds, painting and role-playing The Gruffalo story. Next week we continue to think about ourselves, our feelings and our families- people who can help us at home and at school. Coming up next week:

Week 7 Sounds

Week 7 Shared Reader

Kim Cat

You can now access all of the shared reading books from the link on the class page- please do stick with the book we are currently reading and do not jump ahead- these may contain new sounds we haven't yet learned together. Children will still bring back a physical copy of the book, which must be brought in every day to read together.

Maths

We will be focusing on comparison of quantities this week- comparing 'who has more?' or which groups of objects are bigger or smaller- using our subitising skills to help us.

Wider Learning

We continue with the BEAM programme in P.E focusing on ball skills and accuracy. The children have been loving building castles and large scale models, so we will enjoy more of this too!

Parent Meetings

As you will be aware, parent meetings take place next week after school. You will have received a slip detailing your slot in your child’s planner today.

These meetings are unfortunately very short- and it is important we try to stick to each 10 minute slot so everybody is able to have their meeting in a timely manner. We will have a chance to share your child’s progress and discuss how they have settled, as well as for you to ask any questions or raise any concerns (if any!)

If time is running over, we can book another follow up meeting to finish discussions, as of course it is important that there has been time to adequately discuss everything. Looking forward to talking to you all next week!
