The Week Ahead T1Wk4

19 September 2025 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts))

What's happening next week in Investigator Class?

Topic and Writing

In our geography topic work next week, we will focus on the Austrian city of Innsbruck, taking an in-depth look at the city and what it has to offer the local population and also the many tourists who visit every year.

In English lessons, we will create a persuasive holiday brochure or leaflet attracting visitors to the area. We’ll compare the language and persuasive devices required to create this genre of writing with the factual language used in last week's information text.

Maths

Year 4 maths – we have been working on strategies for checking column addition. For example, using knowledge of odds and evens, doubles, near doubles and estimating. Atom maths this week is practice of estimating – a really useful skill.

Year 5 maths – homework is on paper and practises Place Value.
