Week Ahead In Discovery 12.05.25

11 May 2025 (by Sonia Coles (scoles))

Hill End is nearly upon us and the children seem very excited and looking forward to their 3 day/ 2 night residential trip away from school and home.

Monday- We will continue with our topic work in class. Look at the features of my local area and see if it has changed over time. We will have a Jungle Club, a handwriting session to practise our spelling words, new SPaG learning and comprehension.

Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - Residential trip to Hill End, so children will come to school at the normal time. They do not need their school bag and do not require a uniform. However, they will need their belongings for the trip away. Please ensure that your child is able to carry their bags by themselves. They must bring a packed lunch on Tuesday and a bottle of clean fresh water. The weather is likely to stay warm, so children must wear appropriate clothing, sun cream, sturdy footwear and a hat. The nights can be very cold so please pack a jacket or jumper and an additional blanket.

We aim to be back in school before 3:30pm on Thursday for collection. Friday will remains as normal as possible in school.

Homework- spellings have been issued, along with spag booklets. There is no pressure to hand this in by Wednesday, even thought it has been marked by a due date. The homework cannot be marked this due to the fact we are away. Math's homework (money) is set on Atom Learning this week.

Mrs Wyatt will be teaching Discovery in term 5 and 6 on  Wednesdays. We apologies this information didn't reach you sooner due to the ofsted inspection.

Thank you for your support and wishing you all a good week.
