Final Week of Term 429 March 2025 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts)) |
In the final week of term, we will bring our history topic to a conclusion as we learn about the end of Anglo-Saxon rule. Our shared reader, Tony Bradman’s Anglo-Saxon Boy, has been the perfect accompaniment to this topic. Its protagonist is Magnus, third son of Harold Godwinson, the last crowned Anglo-Saxon King of England and this work of fiction, based on historical fact, has brought valuable additional insight to our understanding of this politically turbulent period in our history. I hope we will find time this week to write some book reviews.
Homework
- English Skills
- Spellings
- Reading
- Atom Maths:
Y4 Decimal Place Value
Y5 Order and Compare Percentages
(Congratulations to those spotted at least one error in the Y5 questions last week. You won’t all have seen this as the adaptive algorithm used by Atom means that questions are tailored to individual pupils based on previous performance).
Musical Instruments
Year 4s – please take your instruments home! You have a wonderful opportunity to learn a musical instrument for the whole year. If you leave your instrument in school all week you are missing out on valuable practice time. Don’t forget to take your instruments home for the Easter holidays.
The End of Term
As usual, the weeks have flown by and we find ourselves nearly at the end. Well done to all Investigator children – you have worked hard and achieved a great deal.
The final celebratory assembly of the term, our Reach Up Reach Out assembly, is on Thursday at 2.45 pm.
The last day of term is on Friday when we will finish at the earlier time of 1.30pm.
Wishing you all a very happy Easter holiday. See you in Term 5!
