Highflyer Class Term 4 Week 414 March 2025 (by Dorothy Wyatt (dwyatt)) |
17 March 2025
The Henley Youth Festival is a delight every year and offers such a variety of experiences. Last week we enjoyed three separate sessions, dance, creative activities and music. Each was a lovely time and it was great to see the enjoyment on everyone's faces!
This week our topic looks at Amelia Earhart from America, the first woman to fly across the Atlantic Ocean and why she is such a significant individual.
Forest School continues on Tuesday and P.E. on Thursday as timetabled.
We have started a new class shared reader book - Kongy Arrives, last week. Just a reminder to send in any previous loaned books from home - thank you.
Our phonic focus is: Week 4 Compare: /s/ /c/ /ce/ sounds
Common Exception Word: eye
Homophones: piece/peace
Maths is focussed on measuring length and height and understanding why we use standard units and what they are. Our mastering number is to develop a deeper understanding of strategies to calculate and help problem solve. We continue with practice of using the structure of now....then....next.... number stories to appreciate adding and subtracting with real-life situations.
Don't forget that this week the spellings are being tested on Monday.
Also, please remember to return the weekly maths homework by Friday of each week.
Have a lovely week!
