Week Ahead In Discovery 17.3.2516 March 2025 (by Sonia Coles (scoles)) |
A massive thanks to Henley Youth Festival for providing a very exciting, entertaining and learning experience for all the children in school. Discovery enjoyed learning Bhangra dance, creating art and enjoying some brass and windpipe instruments.
Last week, all the children wrote an informal letter home to their loved ones as Romans arriving in Britannia. They learnt about the layout, writing in the first person and using direct speech to make their letter interesting.
This week, children will write a diary entry from the point of view of Rhianna from our reading text The Queen of Darkness. The diary entry will incorporate past tense, writing in the first person, using expanded noun phrases, adjective and fronted adverbs.
Maths- Competition of Fraction unit A and assessments. We have started a new topic Measuring mass and capacity.
Afternoon lessons will continue as normal.
Swimming and Cricket on Friday.
Homework: spellings, spag booklets and maths worksheets were issued on Friday. Please note late homework submissions will not be marked due to time constraints. All children must read daily for pleasure and practise their times tables. Thank you for your continued support.
Wishing you all a good week ahead.
