The Week Ahead T4Wk21 March 2025 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts)) |
It has been a good start to Term 4. On Monday, we launched our new historical enquiry ‘How hard was it to invade and settle in Britain? We began by looking at the causes and consequences of the arrival of Angles, Saxons and Jutes in Britain.
This week we will consider continuity and change as we take a closer look at these new Anglo-Saxon settlements.
Class House Point Winners
Investigators were the well-deserved winners of the class house point competition last week. On Monday, we will discuss our treat which will take place later in the week.
Next week
Year 5 will have a special Henley Youth Festival event on Tuesday afternoon when the Young Shakespeare Company is coming to Nettlebed Village Club with their production of Hamlet.
Year 4 will have a Science afternoon as normal.
Wolrd Book Day on Thursday
We are celebrating World Book Day 2025 on Thursday 6th March. This year's theme is to 'Read Your Way' celebrating the reading that your child chooses to do in their free time without judgement. Please find more information on the world book day website: www.worldbookday.com Children are welcome to dress up if they would like to and we encourage you to reuse or exchange costumes instead of buying new ones.
Homework
Our new Friday timetable meant that Y4 did not have time to mark their English Skills homework last week. They should make sure that homework is completed for this Tuesday when they will be marking it.
Weekly homework expectation:
- English Skills
- Atom maths
- Spellings
- Daily reading
Have a great week!
