Endeavour Class: Term 4, Week 1

22 February 2025 (by Kerry Burbedge (kburbedge))

A very warm welcome to term 4! I hope you have all had a lovely half term break and are looking forward to the second spring term ahead.

Topic Work

As part of our history topic, we will be considering the question How hard was it to invade and settle in Britain? We will be exploring the invasion and settling of the Anglo-Saxons and investigating how easy they found it settle in Britain. We will also touch on the invasive threat of the Vikings which threatened the Anglo-Saxons for many years.

We will begin reading our class text: Anglo-Saxon Boy by Tony Bradman.

Homework

Weekly Maths on Atom Learning, set on Thursday.

SPaG – English Skills work booklets providing opportunities to practise grammar learning so that children can readily incorporate them into their own writing and used as revision for SATs – to be handed in and marked each Friday.

Spellings – new spellings will be given out each Friday and tested the following week. Please help children find time to learn these at home. We will be discussing strategies for learning spellings in class.

Please be aware that Y5 will now have PE on Fridays; children are to come into school wearing PE kit. Forest School remains the same – children should come into school wearing outdoor clothing and bring formal uniform to change into.

If you have any questions, concerns or queries, please email me directly on endeavourclass@nettlebed.oxon.sch.uk

Wishing you a wonderful first week of the term!
