Week Ahead In Discovery 24.02.2521 February 2025 (by Sonia Coles (scoles)) |
Hope you all had a great week off school and welcome back to term 4.
This term has a focus on history and our topic is 'Why did the Romans settle in Britain?' We will introduce the topic on Monday, along with the beginning of direct speech. It is important that children do a bit of research at home about the Romans to help them with their learning.
English- Following on from daily Jungle Club and direct speech in our spag lesson. Children will write a brief conversation between Romulus and Remus.
Maths- We will begin our new topic on Fractions (unit A).
PE-
Swimming lessons will be in the mornings combined with the year 4's, Please ensure that your child brings in a swimming kit containing a labelled towel, swimwear, hat and goggles (optional).
Cricket will be in the afternoon, so children will need to wear their PE kits on the day.
Homework- all children must read daily for pleasure, practise their times tables and learn their spellings (given on Friday 14th Feb 25). English spag booklets and maths homework was set on Atom learning. Please note, late submissions will not be marked.
Curriculum letter is on the class page with the timetable. Please see the changes in T4 due to the swimming. Many thanks,
Wishing you all a good week.
