Highflyer Class Term 3 Week 67 February 2025 (by Dorothy Wyatt (dwyatt)) |
10 February 2025
Our topic focus for this final week of term is 'How can we care for our world around us?'. We have looked at the difference between physical and human geography and the wonders that each can provide. We have investigated habitats and thought about the care needed for living things to remain safe and alive. We have become aware how our actions can affect the world around us and how we need to consider our actions when we build or alter our landscape and oceans. This week we think about how to preserve and keep our natural habitats safe around us.
Extra information: Tuesday is Safer Internet Day 2025 and throughout the school all classes will be discussing what is online safety and what we need to look out for.
Forest School is on Tuesday and P.E. on Thursday as timetabled.
Our phonic focus is: Week 6 Review and consolidation of this term's phonics learning.
Maths continues with our multiplication and division unit. We have started learning the two times table (up to 2 lots of 12) and practising the language of multiplication. Mastering Number is looking at adding three numbers together in one maths expression. They will begin by finding totals of 10 or less, identifying that the numbers can be added in any order. Then, they will find totals that are greater than 10; this will involve identifying bonds of 10 and using their knowledge of the composition of the numbers 11–19 as ‘10 and a bit’.
Please remember to return the weekly maths homework by Friday of each week.
Wishing you all a lovely last week of term.
