Highflyer Class Term 2 Week 66 December 2024 (by Dorothy Wyatt (dwyatt)) |
9 December 2024
This week we are looking forward to our Christmas Play. Everyone has been working so hard on their words, songs and actions. We also want to say how lovely the childrens' costumes are and how great they will all look on the day.
After the second performance on Tuesday, we will finish off our history topic and term's study before the last week of term.
Phonics and Spellings
The phonic focus to the end of this term is to Review and Consolidate - Review any patterns/ spelling rules learnt over the last five weeks.
Please send their planner into school every day.
Maths
Mastering Number activities continue with looking at how the numbers 11–19 can be composed of ‘10 and a bit’. This aspect is really thorough as the 'teens' number patterns differ from the rest of the rest the the ten groups. They will consolidate and build on their understanding of the ordinal aspect of numbers within 20, building on from last week. We continue with shape.
Forest School is as normal this week. Please remember to bring the full change of warm and waterproof clothes. Do please check that clothes are adequate for the weather conditions as the children will be outside during these colder weeks until the Spring.
Have a lovely week sixth week of Term 2.
