Endeavour Class: Term 2, Week 4

24 November 2024 (by Kerry Burbedge (kburbedge))

Last week, our visit to Reading Museum involved dressing up as well as learning some fascinating facts about what life was like for children during Victorian times. They discovered the different jobs that children were expected to do before the law was changed and they were given the opportunity to go to school.

Our topic learning next week, will involve investigating the importance of Lord Shaftesbury and the impact of his work to change the laws around working and education for children.

Forest School

Parents of year 5 children, please ensure that you read the email sent out by Diana Mills, our Forest School teacher. The children were extremely cold last week and she has offered some advice on selecting the correct clothing to wear. The children are outside in all weathers so it is important that they are dressed for it.

Please also ensure that children have a coat each day whilst the weather is so changeable as they are expected to play outside during break and lunchtimes unless it is very wet. Hats and gloves are ideal.

We are now beginning our run up to Christmas and so, the children are learning some songs to sing for a Christmas lunch at the Nettlebed Club - they may need a little help with lyrics.

Have a lovely, hopefully warmer, week ahead!
