Victorians Day at Reading Museum Trip
It was an informative and entertaining visit to Reading Museum for our Victorians experience. It gave children a taste of what life was like for some people in Victorian society. They found out about the sort of jobs Victorian children would have done if they were ’in service’ and they all played their parts marvellously in the Victorian schoolroom session. They look so serious! Please see the photo gallery above.
In history next week, we will investigate the significance and impact of Lord Shaftesbury's contribution to child labour laws and education in Victorian England.
Dress for the weather
We aim to have playtimes outside in all but the very worst weather conditions. Playtimes should be spent with friends enjoying being outside and also provide active breaks between lessons. Please make sure that children have suitable outerwear and footwear for playing outside now that colder, wetter weather is finally upon us.
Y5 Forest School next week – please make sure you have read Diana Mill’s advice on suitable clothing for Forest School. I sent out via the class email on Thursday.
Christmas Singing practice – we have begun practising in earnest for the various performances. It sounds pretty good already!
