A very warm welcome back to school for term 2! I hope you had wonderfully relaxing half term break and are looking forward to returning to school for the Christmas term.

This week we will beginning our topic which poses the question: How have children’s lives changed? The children will kick off this historical topic by learning to identify the continuities and changes to children’s lives using a range of sources. We will begin reading our text - Oliver Twist - we are reading a short abridged version this term and supplementing this with a class read too.

Our writing this week will focus on a character description.

On 7th November, we have the Goring cross-country meet. If your child is taking part, they may come into school in PE kit.

PE days will remain the same for this term: Tuesday for Y6 only, Forest School clothes (please bring in uniform to change into) for Y5s and Wednesday for everyone.

Our weekly spelling test will take place each Friday, English Skills homework to also be handed in each Friday.
