Investigator News T1Wk712 October 2024 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts)) |
There has been a lot to celebrate this week outside of the normal timetable.
Cross Country – Many Investigator pupils took to the fields and woodland trails in the Stoke Row Cross Country event on Thursday afternoon. They were brilliant, showing courage and determination on this tough course. Nettlebed were third overall.
Bikeability – Year 5 pedalled their way to success in their Bikeability training. The instructors were very complimentary about them and praised them for their excellent listening skills and willingness to learn. I am so glad they made the most of these valuable life skill lessons.
Topic work – Our exploration of the Amazon Rainforest is coming to a close as the class are busy carrying out research and writing reports about an animal of the Amazon.
I have been very impressed with the extra work some children are choosing to do in their own time. We have had several individuals and groups sharing their Rainforest presentations with the class. They do say that the best way to learn is to teach and Investigator pupils are proving the point.
Next week
On Monday afternoon, the class will take part in a mental well-being and growth mindset workshop. They will learn about developing their growth mindset through the medium of drawing.
Again this week there will be no Forest School on Tuesday for Y5. PE kits to be worn, please.
I look forward to seeing you all at Parents’ Evenings next week, either on Tuesday or Thursday.
Have a great week!
