Endeavour Class

15 September 2024 (by Kerry Burbedge (kburbedge))

What a busy first full week back to school!

House Captain elections took place on Friday morning - results will be announced and badges awarded in assembly on Monday. Year 6 children finally met their buddies and spent some lovely time bonding in Adventure Class; buddy speeches will take place on the following days:

Friday 11th October - Apollo & Hestia year 6s

Friday 18th October - Demeter & Poseidon year 6s

Year 6 parents are warmly invited to attend the Friday assembly their child is giving a speech at.

Last week, we began a some DT learning about the different structures of pavilions and we began by creating stable structures using toothpicks and marshmallows!

News for the week ahead:

Please ensure you have read the update from Mrs Greenwood regarding adhoc Lego Club bookings - it may well affect many of you.

There is a slight change to our class timetable. We now have RE on Fridays and Computing on Thursdays - this is to accommodate year group teaching for computing.

This week we will be attending an online lesson with Katherine Rundell, the author of our class text - The Explorer. Whilst she won;t be talking about our class text specifically, we hope to gain insight into what it is like to be an author, where does inspiration come from and how we can practise our writing skills if we have a love for writing! We will also be prefecting our descriptive writing skills as we write a character description of a new character in the class text.

Forest School is on Tuesdays for year 5 and PE Kit for year 6.

Wednesday is our whole class PE session.
