Investigator - The Week Ahead

29 June 2024 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts))

Hill End

Your children were fantastic at Hill End! The trip is great fun but quite a challenge (especially in the heat) and they all showed resilience, determination and for some a great deal of courage to cope with the experience. The Hill End staff were very complimentary about them and praised them for their listening skills, their knowledge, their manners and respectfulness. I do hope the children will treasure the memories for a long time!

Porridge – Upper School Play Information

Costumes are needed by the end of next week. Please bring them in in a named bag as soon as possible.

Waitresses: a plain white T-shirt, white socks and school shoes. I have a plan for the rest!

Lumberjacks: checked shirt, jeans and boots (or similar). Toy axes, chain saws or other tree-felling tools welcome.

Marigold the cow – cow-coloured plain T-shirt and trousers (black, brown etc)

The evening performance is on Wednesday 10th July at 6 pm. Please ensure that children are back in school by 5.30 pm

Next week

Whole School Photo – on Monday morning. Children must wear full school uniform (including jumpers). Bring PE kits in a bag to change into afterwards.

Next week’s learning

In geography we continue with our fieldwork enquiry and are finalising our data collection strategy, community consultation and fieldwork routes.

Election Special:. What would you do if you were prime minister? Children will be writing their own manifestos.

In maths, we begin a unit on Statistics. This involves interpreting charts and graphs and creating our own.

Homework

  • Atom maths
  • Atom reading comprehension
  • Weekly spellings
  • Reading

Have a great week everyone!
