A warm welcome back to school and term 5! I hope you have all had a wonderful break.

I am excited to welcome the children back tomorrow as a new year 5 & 6 class - we will spend some time this week working together and playing some team games.

This term is always slightly different as some time is allocated to year 6 SATS practise for the first 4 weeks of term, then SATS will take place, beginning on Monday 13th May. Year 6 will be working with me for three days and year 5 will be taught by Mrs Greenwood and Mrs Hall for those days. Year 5 and 6 will be together with me for the remainder of the week.

Our new topic for this term is The Stone Age and we are reading Wolf Brother by Michelle Pavers - it's a great book which is part of a series of 8 books! Hopefully this will inspire some children to continue with the series. It has a brilliant opening chapter - the children will be listening to a version of it then will write their own exciting story opener during English this week.

Year 5 parents, please be aware that PE is now on a Friday.

Year 6 parents, PE will remain on Mondays and Fridays.
