Investigator - Final Week of Term 4

23 March 2024 (by Sarah Roberts (sroberts))

It was good to see you all last week at parents’ evening. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to help your children learn successfully, achieve their potential and develop and manage their relationships with other children.

STEM Challenge

Congratulations to the five Y4 pupils who represented Nettlebed at the St Mary’s STEM Challenge last week. And it was quite a challenge – apparently, they had to build a Ferris wheel! Ms Walsh reports that the team worked well together and gave a very good account of themselves.

In School next week

Our final (short) week of term is upon us, and we will bring to a close our India geography topic. Having considered various aspects of this amazing country, we will return to the question we asked at the beginning of term, ‘Why is India described as a land of contrasts?’.

Swimming on Tuesday will be the final swimming lesson for Year 4. Children should bring pyjamas in for this lesson as they will be leaning some strategies for self rescue. Ideally pyjamas should have long legs (rather than shorts) as this enhances the water-logged effect. They must wear their swimming costumes underneath the pyjamas.

The Stars of the Term assembly is on Wednesday at 2.45

The Last Day of term is on Thursday at 1.30pm

Holi Festival of Colour celebration on Thursday. Holi is officially celebrated this year on Monday 25th March but we will have our own special end-of-term celebration on Thursday. The last day of term is therefore a non-uniform day; children should wear old clothes as they will get covered in paint – unless they run very fast!

I wish everyone a great week and a very happy Easter Holiday.
