Week Ahead In Discovery 4.3.243 March 2024 (by Sonia Coles (scoles)) |
What a brilliant end to week 2. The whole school took part in an obstacle course to raise money for Sobell House, along with a cake sale. Thank you all for the support.
English/ topic:
Last week, children spent a lot of time gathering information on our topic 'India' both at home and school. This will enable them to write a non-chronological report/ fact file.
World book day on 7.3.24 will be a very busy morning in school. We have story telling opportunities from around the world, followed by a visit from an award winning author Rob Jones. Please find information below:
His first board book, ‘Where’s Brian’s Bottom?’, was the first in his series of very long fold-out books. This was followed by ‘Who’s Tickling Tilly?’ and his latest instalment, ‘Where’s Willy’s Welly?’, set to be released in May 2024.
In addition to his own works, Rob also illustrates books for other authors. In 2023, he won the Best Children’s Book at the Sunday Times Sports Book Awards for his illustrations in 'The Funny Life of Football', written by James Campbell.
