Week Ahead In Discovery 29.1.2426 January 2024 (by Sonia Coles (scoles)) |
Science Week
Massive congratulations to Discovery for winning the class treat this week! For their treat, it will be slippers or comfortable footwear all week (Mon to Fri). However, ONLY on Friday the children can wear their home clothes, bring a toy/ football cards.
I am very impressed by all the children and their desire to learn and support the Fairtrade Foundation. Choosing to buy Fairtrade goods from the supermarkets and to help support poorer farmers in developing countries.
All children have written a formal letter to Mrs Greenwood this week to purchase Fairtrade bananas for our school snack.
Next week's focus will be on science. Our topic is 'Forces' in term 3 ( friction and magnetism). We aim to conduct lots of experiments in and around the classrooms and the use of Newton meters.
Please could I request that all children bring in a labelled pair of gloves to school, some with rubber grips if possible, thank you.
Maths: Length and Perimeter. We will begin our new topic on Monday, as the children have successfully completed their end of unit assessments on Multiplication and Division. However, please could you ensure that your child learns their time tables, spellings and reading a book daily.
Thank you all for your support.
Best wishes,
Ms Coles
