Week Ahead In Discovery 22/1/2419 January 2024 (by Sonia Coles (scoles)) |
It's been another busy work with lots of learning both in class and school.
English/ Topic-
Last week, the new topic ' Rich and Poor' was introduced in class. For our learning, we focused on the massive contrast between the rich and the poor during the Victorian period. We also discussed the barter system before the invention of coins and money. Whilst we looked at historical facts, we also made comparisons of rich and poor during modern times.
The children spent time referring to their notes during the lesson inputs to write a non-chronological report on Rich and Poor in the Victorian Era.
Next week, we will look at Fair Trade in greater detail. Following on from this, year 3's will write a formal persuasive letter to Mrs. Greenwood encouraging the school to buy Fairtrade fruit and vegetables for our morning snacks.
Maths- Continuation of Multiplication and Division unit (2)
All afternoon subjects will continue as normal.
Snack
Please could I remind all parents who do not pay for a school snack (morning break) to send their child with either a piece of fruit or vegetable, along with a bottle of fresh water. Thank you.
Homework
Times tables, spellings, reading, English Spag workbook and Atom learning for Maths.
Thank you all for your support. Hope you all have a good weekend and next week.
