What a week - busy but brilliant!  It has been a pleasure welcoming the children back to the new term and the new year.  They have settled straight back into school life - learning and having fun as always.  

We have begun research about the Romans (our history topic for the term) and I am delighted that quite a few children have carried out their own independent research - keep it up Investigators!  The shared reader 'Roman Diary, the journal of Iliona' is proving popular and is a great source of accurate historical information as well as telling her fictitious story. 

Next week we have our ROMANS DAY on Monday.  The pupil information is attached again. Please help children to choose a name from the list so that they feel like a real Roman. I am looking forward to seeing all the costumes - see the information leaflet for advice on these.  There will be no PE session on Monday as the Romans workshop runs for the whole day.

For the rest of the week, we will be back to our usual timetable.
