Endeavour Class: Term 3, Week 215 January 2024 (by Kerry Burbedge (kburbedge)) |
Roman Day
Monday is our much-anticipated Roman Day! The children are to wear a roman outfit - plain clothes is absolutely fine but the more adventurous of you may employ some bed sheets to really get a good feel for Roman dress.
Topic & Writing
We are learning more about how the Roman Empire became so powerful. We will continue our story of Illiona, a Roman slave and we will attempt to write our own diary entry as a slave. We will further our topic knowledge by learning all about the gladiators – who they were and how they were treated. We will finish the week by writing an application form for a gladiator position.
Please ensure that the children have enough layers to wear whilst in school – the classroom can get quite cold at times so please feel free to advise the children to wear base layers whenever they wish. They will need a coat in school this week with the colder weather too.
Woodlands consent forms have been sent home; it would be wonderful if these could be returned by the end of the week if possible.
Please do email me directly if you have any questions or queries.
Have a wonderful week.
