It was a great opportunity to meet new and some familiar parents and to talk about how your child has settled in.

Last Thursday, we celebrated National Poetry Day and the children wrote poems on refuge and what it meant to them. This also tied in with our current topic on WW2.

On Friday, we had a skipping workshop in school led by Mary. She was brilliant with the children and taught them a few tricks using a skipping rope. Please see pictures below.

The week ahead, will be blocked for science. Our topics covered in term 1:

Please Note

During the week, children will be handling cooked chicken bones without the any meat. They will all wear gloves during this activity and encouraged to wash their hands thoroughly.

Maths- Continuation of Addition and Subtraction unit.

At home, please ensure your children continue to practise the topic using 3 digit numbers, involving an exchange. They should be encouraged to draw using base 10 or place value counters to see the exchange in each column. Learning their times tables daily.

Homework-

Maths homework has been set on Atom Learning. However, apologies regarding the English work booklets not being sent out on Friday. We had an early assembly that took priority and the work booklets had been forgotten on my desk.
