Dear Parents and Guardians,

A warm and hearty welcome to you and your children at Nettlebed Community School. We're eagerly anticipating a year filled with excitement and enriching experiences.

Our focus for the first term will be "All about me." Throughout this term, we'll be delving into the EYFS curriculum by embarking on a journey of self-discovery, both for ourselves and alongside our new friends and teachers.

Daily sessions in phonics and mathematics will be a key part of our routine. As we commence our exploration of sounds, your child will receive a reading book, a library book, a planner, and a word bag, all of which will be sent home in their bags. It's important to ensure that these items are consistently kept in their bags. Library books and reading books will be swapped on a weekly basis, with new sounds placed in their word bags.

To ensure a smooth day, kindly provide a labelled water bottle containing only water, along with a change of clothes labelled with your child's name. These items can be conveniently stored in their designated pegs in a plastic bag. For days with rain, it's essential to have a raincoat and Wellington boots (both labelled). If possible, leaving a pair of Wellington boots at the school would be greatly appreciated. To assist your children in keeping their belongings organized, we kindly request that all items are clearly marked.

Physical Education (P.E.) days are scheduled for Tuesdays and Fridays, and children are required to come to school dressed in their PE kit. Please remember to label every piece of the PE clothes, especially their jumpers.

Don't forget to check our Adventure class blog every Monday on the Nettlebed website, https://nettlebed.schooljotter2.com/. This is where you'll discover pictures capturing your child's engagement in activities from the past week, as well as a preview of what they'll be learning next.

If you need to reach out with any questions or share information, you can contact us via the class email address: adventureclass@nettlebed.oxon.sch.uk.

Should someone other than yourself be responsible for picking up your child, please ensure that Reception is informed beforehand.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Warm regards,

Virginia Gonzalez
